Scripture: Joshua 1:1–9

You’re Not Lost… You’re Just Not Moving

Family… let’s be honest.

Some of us aren’t confused.
We’re not lacking direction.
We’re not waiting on God to speak.

👉 We’re just not moving.

It’s like missing a turn on GPS and deciding,
“I’m gonna figure this out myself.”

Now you’re taking side streets…
driving in circles…
getting frustrated…

And the whole time, God already gave you the route.

Here’s the truth we don’t always want to hear:

👉 Delayed obedience is still disobedience.
👉 Your detour doesn’t cancel God’s destination—but it will delay your arrival.

When God speaks to Joshua, He doesn’t give him options.

He says:
“Moses is dead… now arise.”

No debate.
No delay.
No detours.

1. Built Different People Know When It’s Time to Move On

God starts with a hard truth: “Moses is dead.”

Not to be harsh—but to be clear.

👉 That season is over.

And if you’re going to be used by God,
you’ve got to learn how to move when He says move.

Some of us are stuck not because we don’t love God…
but because we’re holding onto what used to be.

Old habits.
Old mindsets.
Old seasons.
Even old versions of ourselves.

And if we’re honest…

👉 It’s not that it’s good for us.
👉 It’s just familiar.

But you can’t step into a new season
wearing what’s worn out from the last one.

Just because it still fits doesn’t mean it still works.

God didn’t call you to stay comfortable—
He called you to keep moving.

2. Built Different People Trust God’s Plan

Once you decide to move…
the next question is:

👉 Do you trust where God is taking you?

Because movement is easy…
until you don’t control the details.

God gives Joshua a promise that covers everything:

  • His past (the wilderness)

  • His present (resources and provision)

  • His future (what’s coming)

  • His influence (impact beyond him)

That’s not random.

👉 That’s the providence of God.

God is already in your tomorrow, preparing what you’re worried about today.

But here’s the warning:

The promise can be real…
and still be derailed by what you attach to it.

Every time God’s people mixed Him with idols…
it cost them.

And we do the same thing today:

  • Trusting God and horoscopes

  • Following Jesus and “living my truth”

  • Wanting God’s blessing *without His authority

👉 That’s not devotion—that’s mixture.

God’s plan doesn’t fall apart because of opposition.
It falls apart when something else takes His place.

3. Built Different People Follow the Blueprint

God doesn’t just give Joshua a destination.

He gives him a way to live.

Because it’s one thing to shout about the promise…
and another thing to walk it out.

We want:

  • The land… without discipline

  • The promise… without obedience

  • The outcome… without the process

But God makes it plain:

👉 Be strong
👉 Be courageous
👉 Study the Word
👉 Meditate on it
👉 Don’t deviate

This isn’t about controlling God.

👉 It’s about aligning with Him.

Success isn’t just results—it’s living in alignment with God’s will.

The Final Reality

God ends it with this:

👉 “I am with you wherever you go.”

That’s it.

That’s the confidence.
That’s the foundation.
That’s the reason you can move.

You don’t need more confirmation
when you already have His presence.

So Here’s the Question…

What is your “Jordan”?

What is God telling you to leave?
What step have you been delaying?

Because this isn’t about information anymore.

👉 It’s about movement.

Final Declaration

Family, this is your moment.

Say it—and mean it:

👉 I will move.
👉 I will trust.
👉 I will follow.
