“Your breakthrough is often on the other side of your willingness to push past what’s been holding you back.”
Have you ever been dealing with something for so long… that you started getting used to it?
Not because it’s good.
Not because it’s right.
But because it’s been there so long, it started to feel normal.
For some, it’s visible—pain, stress, disappointment.
But for others, it’s hidden—pressure, pride, anger, silent battles, financial strain.
And if we’re honest… some of us have learned how to function in things God never called us to live with.
But here’s the truth:
Familiar doesn’t mean functional.
Just because it stayed… doesn’t mean it’s supposed to stay.
In Gospel of Mark 5:25–34, we meet a woman who had been bleeding for 12 years.
Twelve years of:
Isolation
Shame
Being labeled
Being overlooked
According to the law in Book of Leviticus, she was considered unclean.
That meant she couldn’t touch people, couldn’t worship freely, couldn’t live normally.
But here’s what stands out:
She had an issue… but she wasn’t her issue.
And some of us need to hear that today.
You are not your anxiety.
You are not your past.
You are not your struggle.
You’ve been coping with what God wants to cure.
The Bible says she heard about Jesus… and made a decision.
She didn’t wait for perfect conditions.
She didn’t wait for approval.
She didn’t wait for comfort.
Her faith made her move.
And here’s the reality:
Faith isn’t passive.
Faith doesn’t sit still.
Faith responds.
Think about someone who feels like they’re drowning. They don’t care how they look. They don’t care who’s watching. They just need air.
That’s the kind of desperation this woman had.
She said:
“I don’t care what it looks like… I just need to get to Jesus.”
And some of us?
We’ve been hearing God… feeling conviction… but we keep scrolling past it.
But breakthrough isn’t in the next scroll.
Breakthrough is in your response.
When she moved, she hit resistance.
There was a crowd.
And the truth is—there’s always a crowd.
Not just people… but:
Fear
Pride
Past mistakes
Comfort zones
Doubt
But being built different means:
You don’t stop when you feel resistance.
Because your breakthrough is not on the side of comfort…
it’s on the other side of your push.
She pushed through.
And when she touched Jesus… everything changed.
Immediately.
What took 12 years… shifted in one moment.
Jesus didn’t stop to embarrass her.
He stopped to acknowledge her.
He called her “Daughter.”
That moment didn’t just heal her body.
It restored her identity.
And today… He’s still doing the same thing.
He’s reminding you:
You are still His
You are still seen
You are still worthy
You are still called
Your breakthrough isn’t blocked.
It’s waiting on your push.
Some of you have been:
Sitting with it
Managing it
Explaining it
Living with it
But today is the day you decide:
“I’m not staying here anymore.”
Because just because it lasted…
Doesn’t mean it gets the final say.
